i can't bear to end my day with a sad blog post!
so i shall tell you my achievement of the day: i spent an entire evening speaking to my friend's cousin from malaysia, who speaks only chinese, so i loosened my tongue and put my frozen hua yu to good use. impressive or what!! but what was even more awesome was how i managed to have a proper mini-conversation with that particular friend and her bro, who are usually infuriatingly SILENT. i mean, you can't elicit more than 2 syllables out of them each on good days. but TODAY it seems the bringing of their distant cousin finally gave them smth to talk about... i guess they found themselves more familiar with us then her (slightly) since they haven't seen her cousin in a couple of years and they aren't close. but the cousin is awesome, really friendly! she thought all singaporeans were as tight-lipped as her quiet cousins, around strangers at least. HAHAHAHA.
